ASSIST FALLEN OFFICER MEMORIAL
OFFICER JOSHUA SANDERS 12/18/2011 On December 18th 2011 Security Officer Joshua Sanders was killed in the line of duty working for Dynasty Security in Houston, Texas. Officer Sanders was 25 years old. Investigators said a man was in the parking lot of the apartment complex with friends blaring his music. Officer Sanders drove by and told them to turn it down. Police said his warnings were ignored and when the guard drove by again, he and the suspect got into an argument. Seconds later, the suspect pulled out a gun, Sanders responded by drawing his weapon. Police said the guard fired once, hitting a witness in the arm. Police said the suspect fired several shots, killing officer Sanders.
OFFICER ASHMAD ISSOUI 11/28/2011 HOUSTON TX Investigators say Officer ISSOUI was killed and another person was wounded during gunfire at an illegal game room in the Houston area. The Harris County Sheriff's Office says robbery was the apparent motive early Monday as two men opened fire, grabbed some cash and fled. Deputies said two robbery suspects entered the game room and opened fire.
OFFICER ROBERT (RD) ST. CLAIR 5/9/2011 MERCHANT’S INDUSTRIAL SECURITY S/O St. Clair 49 was working his normal shift at a shopping center at Buckner Lake June Rd. in Dallas.S/O St. Clair interrupted a robbery in progress and was shot dying at the scene. The subject fled through a nearby neighborhood. No suspects or arrests have been made at this time. S/O St. Clair was an 18 year veteran of Merchant's. S/O St. Clair is survived by his mother and 3 brothers.
OFFICER FIDEL SANCHEZ III 4/20/2011 PROFESSIONAL GUARD and PATROL S/O Fidel Sanchez 27 was dispatched to an alarm at a construction site in Fresno TX just after midnight. On arrival S/O Sanchez approached a lone male on site and made contact. Subject shot S/O Sanchez. Subject and 3 other unknown males fled the scene on foot abandoning their stolen pick-up truck. Police have issued 3 warrants but no arrests have been made at this time. S/O Sanchez is survived by his wife and 3 children ages 6 and 5 and 2.
OFFICER JIM ANDREW LEE 3/26/2011 INDUSTRIAL SECURITY SERVICES S/O Lee was unarmed working an office building in Houston on 3/22/11. S/O Lee encountered a homeless person in the rear of the building. During an ensuing conflict the subject stabbed S/O Lee several times. S/O Lee died of his wounds on 3/26. S/O Lee was survived by his mother.
OFFICER JOSE BENITEZ 8/15/2010 HOUSTON DIVISION SECURITY PATROL S/O Benitez was working in a restaurant owned by his family in Montgomery County south of Houston. A known assailant entered the facility and shot the officer without warning over a previous incident in the restaurant. A warrant has been issued but it is believed the subject has fled to Mexico.
OFFICER RAY WAUSON 6/18/2010 TRIPLE D SECURITY S/O Wauson newly hired was riding in the rear of an armored car near Victoria TX. The vehicle he was riding in suffered a blown rear tire. In the resulting roll over S/O Wauson was killed.
OFFICER CRESENZIO BORQUEZ 9/18/2009 BRINK’S ARMORED S/O Borquez 46 was making a money drop at a Chase ATM on Fort Worth Ave in South Dallas. 3 perpetrators attempted to rob S/O Borquez at the ATM. One of the subjects held him from behind and shot the officer several times. S/O Borquez died at the scene and subjects fled. Subjects were later arrested during the commission of another bank robbery 2 weeks later. S/O Borquez was survived by his wife son and daughter.
OFFICER LYLE KASTNER 7/18/2009 SAN ANTONIO INVESTIGATIONS S/O Kastner 57 was working a bingo parlor on interstate 35 in Austin. While walking the manager to her vehicle an armed perpetrator attempted to rob the manager. S/O Kastner attempted to intervene and ordered the subject to drop his weapon three times. The subject answered by shooting the officer taking his duty weapon and fleeing the scene. S/O Kastner died at the scene. No arrest has been made. S/O Kastner an Army Veteran was survived by his wife and disabled adult son.
OFFICER WILLIAM DOHERTY 3/28/2009 EXECUTIVE SECURITY S/O Doherty was on patrol when he was involved in an MVA. S/O Doherty died at the scene. S/O Doherty was survived by his sister and was a veteran of the US Army.
OFFICER ALI AZIZ 42 9/14/2008 ARLINGTON TX. While on duty at a game room Officer AZIZ was shot and killed during a robbery.
UNIDENTIFIED OFFICER 8/24/2008 HOUSTON TX. Was shot to death working security at a night club.
OFFICER FRANK CLABORN 50 2/19/2008 HOUSTON TX. While working security at a construction site officer Claborn was struck and killed by a car.
OFFICER MARK HARDY 37 1/11/2008 HOUSTON TX. Was shot while questioning a trespasser.
OFFICER CRUZ VITE 1/1/2008 GARCIA’S MERCHANT PATROL S/O Vite 58 was assigned to work under contract to the operator of the Border Crossing on the Paso Del Norte Bridge between the US and Mexico in El Paso. S/O Vite was involved in a physical altercation with a subject for unknown reasons. Subject was detained at the scene and later charged. S/O Vite tragically succumbed to a Heart Attack at Thomason Hospital a short time later.
OFFICER STEWART EDELMAN 44 11/7/2007 SCHERTZ TX. Was shot on duty during a robbery at an Internet Cafe.
OFFICER LUIS A. AYALA 8/1/2007 HOUSTON TX. While working at an area club officer Ayala was shot and killed during a robbery.
OFFICER SHMAEL DELACRUZ 33 6/1/2007 FORNEY TX. Died from severe trauma injuries after his Loomis Armor Truck hit an eighteen wheeler head-on.
OFFICER ALLEN HAYES 6/1/2007 DESOTO TX. Died in a wreck while working for Loomis Armor Car Service.
OFFICER ADAN SANCHEZ 2/17/2007 METRO SECURITY PATROL S/O Sanchez 19 was working the parking lot of a club on Industrial Blvd. In Dallas TX. S/O Sanchez was shot by persons unknown in the parking lot. S/O Sanchez died a short time later at Methodist Medical Center. No subjects were ever arrested or charged in the case.
OFFICER LUIS MANCILLAS 1/21/2007 LAKE CITY PATROL S/O Mancillas 23 was working a Sports Bar in Stafford TX. Officer Mancillas intervened in an argument between 2 customers. S/O Mancillas was shot and killed by one of the subject who fled the No Suspects were ever charged. Officer Mancillas left a wife and 2 children.
OFFICER WILLIAM BUCHANAN 1/12/2007 AMERITEX SECURITY S/O Buchanan stepped outside his post on Lamar Street in Dallas at approximately 0700. He was struck by an unknown hit and run driver and laid in the street for approximately 20 minutes before EMS was called. S/O Buchanan was disconnected from life support the next day. No suspects were ever charged. His remains were transported back to Arkansas to be buried where he grew up. Officer Buchanan was survived by his mother and siblings.
UNKNOWN OFFICER 1/1/2007 DENTON TX. While on foot patrol was shot at an apartment complex.
OFFICER DENNIS MITCHELL 31 6/1/2006 HOUSTON TX. Died from gunshots after several people assaulted him for unknown reasons.
OFFICER DWIGHT PEEK 11/10/2005 STATEWIDE SECURITY S/O Peak 52 was working his assigned post at the Greyhound Bus Terminal in Downtown San Antonio. Officer Peak apprehended an armed subject Ali Almaeaarek in the terminal. While calling 911 the subject regained control of his weapon and shot Officer Peak. Subject was apprehended a few blocks away by police. The Subject earlier that day had taken the life of his “girlfriend’ in Pflugerville TX and was attempting to flee the Austin area when he encountered Officer Peak. Officer Peak was survived by his wife.
OFFICER OSVALDO VERA 11/15/2003 HARRIS COUNTY PATROL S/O Vera was working a 2 man assignment alone in the Web Chapel area of Dallas. S/o Vera made contact with persons unknown in a vehicle. Persons shot S/O Vera residents reported hearing the shots but no one called the police; Approximately 3 hours later Officer Vera was found dead in the parking lot. No Suspects were ever charged. Officer Vera left a wife and 2 children.
OFFICER OLIVER FLORES 1/1/1981 HOUSTON TX. Was shot and killed during a robbery of the armored truck he was working on.
